In a twist, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) announced this Saturday (28) that the appointment of Cesário Cecchi as director-general of ANP has no legal basis and that José Gutman must take over the position. The MME officialized the opinion of the attorney of the Union, Márcia Labanca, ratified this Friday (27) by Attorney General André Luiz de Almeida Mendonça, indicating that the board should follow the replacement list established by the President of the Republic.
The ANP board is expected to speak publicly about the decision today (30).
With the departure of Décio Oddone from the board of directors, José Gutman was the first on the short list to replace him provided by President Bolsonaro.
However, the other directors of ANP had met previously in an extraordinary session and appointed Cecchi as director-general and summoned Gutman to take over the board seat left by Cecchi.
