A recognized leader in petroleum geoscience, Dr. Marcio Rocha Mello has more than 40 years of experience in the petroleum industry and is widely regarded as a pioneer of petroleum system analysis in Latin America and West Africa. He founded Petrobras’ first Center of Excellence (CEGEQ), founded HRT Petroleum, and has been a key contributor to several major exploration initiatives in Brazil, including the Pre-Salt, as well as in West Africa, including Namibia. A multiple-time recipient of awards from the AAPG and ABGP, he founded BPS in 2018 with the vision of bringing together Brazil’s top E&P professionals to advance the understanding of complex petroleum systems and support strategic exploration worldwide.

Dr. Vladimir is an internationally recognized expert in petroleum geochemistry and environmental services, with more than three decades of experience in research, laboratory management, and applied surface exploration. He has led geochemical programs for major oil companies and academic institutions and has authored numerous scientific publications. His expertise spans organic geochemistry, advanced analytical methods, and microbiological techniques.

Dr. Pedrosa is a former CEO of Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A. (PPSA) and a senior Petrobras executive with extensive experience in field research, development, production management, and regulatory frameworks. Dr. Hans Kemna is an internationally recognized expert in Petroleum Systems Modeling (PSM). With more than 20 years of worldwide experience, he has contributed to numerous exploration successes. He is an expert user of the market-leading software packages for PSA/PSM. His work integrates geochemical, geological, and physical (P/T) modeling to reduce uncertainty across frontier and mature basins at all scales, from basin screening to prospect maturation.
Petroleum Geochemistry Director
A pioneer in organic geochemistry, Dr. Moldowan is one of the most influential scientists in the field worldwide. Formerly a professor at Stanford University and a long-standing leader at Chevron, he has authored more than 200 scientific publications and co-authored The Biomarker Guide. His contributions have fundamentally shaped modern petroleum geochemistry on a global scale.
Petroleum Geochemistry Specialist
Dr. Jeremy Dahl has over 30 years of experience in the petroleum industry, first with Chevron Research and later as a consultant and research scientist at Stanford University. His work predominantly centers around developing and applying geochemical applications for exploration and production. He is probably the world’s foremost expert on petroleum diamondoids. He has over 200 publications, many in the top scientific journals, including Nature and Science, and has over 35 granted patents.

Remote Sensing Researcher
Geologist with expertise in data science using remote sensing approaches for applications in the oil and gas industry and wind power generation. Large experience for Petroleum Systems exploration using radar and optical images for hydrocarbon interpretation over offshore and onshore regions in several projects in South America sedimentary basins, the Gulf of Mexico, and the coast of Africa. He has also led renewable energy projects to estimate wind power in offshore regions using geophysical models applied to SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) imagery.
