The superlative exploration success in the Pre-Salt province deep-water Santos Basin has been dominated until now, by the application of classical exploration methods. However, for the exploration of the outboard new frontier area, where very few geological, geochemical, and seismic new data are available, it is imperative to integrate the new advanced geochemical with the seismic and potential method sold data and its interpretation with an updated understanding of the elements and processes of the petroleum system approach and basin modeling to lower the exploration risk in such a geologically complex area.
