Vladimir Elias, Ph.D.

Mr. Elias is currently the head of Petroleum Geochemistry Services at BPS.
He holds a B.Sc. in chemistry and a M.Sc. and D.Sc. in organic chemistry, with a specialization in organic geochemistry and oceanography, from the University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in conjunction with Oregon State University (US). In addition, he also possesses an MBA (CEO-FGV) from Faculdade GetĂșlio Vargas (Brazil) and specializations in geostatistics (Center of Geostatistics of L’Ă©cole Des Mines ParisTech, France), finance for executives (INSEAD, France) and strategic growth and change (Columbia Business School, US).
With over 30 years of experience in petroleum geochemistry, he was a technical director for Anatech (2011-17) and a founding director of HRT-Petroleum (2004-10), being responsible for soil, water, rock and oil parameter interpretation. Previous to this, he worked at Analytical Solutions (2001-04) as an oil and environmental analysis manager, after working for three years as the coordinator of geochemical laboratories for CENPES-Petrobras (1999-2001). He was also a faculty research assistant to Dr. Simoneit at Oregon State University (USA) (1995-98).
Over the course of his career, Mr. Elias has published more than 30 articles in scientific journals, developed about 40 conference papers and coordinated over 50 seafloor geochemical studies.
