Report summary
Barreirinhas Basin is located in the Brazilian Equatorial Margin, both on land and at sea, approximately between the meridians 44°W and 42ºW and the parallels of 00 and 30° S. It occupies an area of approximately 46,000km², of which only 8,500km² are emerged, and the remaining corresponds to the offshore portion that extends to the 3,000m isobath. To the west, the Ilha de Santana Platform is a barrier that extends from the shallow to the deep-water basin. In order to evaluate the exploratory potential of Pará-Maranhão Basin, Brazilpetrostudies have developed a study to rank the best areas for petroleum exploration based on the integration of different approaches and exploration tools like seismic interpretation and mapping, high-resolution geochemistry, reservoir petrophysics, tectonic, structural and stratigraphic framework reconstruction and petroleum system quantitative modeling.
